Dear Colleague:

As the premier provider of tax problem resolution training, we are dedicated to providing the public with competent representation before the IRS and other taxing agencies. One of our main objectives is to inspire public confidence in the integrity and dedication within the profession.

ASTPS is a growing organization comprised of attorneys, certified public accountants, and enrolled agents with a desire to provide tax problem resolution services to businesses and individuals facing tax difficulties. Our members are dedicated to understanding the administrative and procedural areas contained in the Internal Revenue Code and in the tax laws of the states where they practice.

As an association, we strive to elevate the standards in our practice area. Some (non-member) practitioners have been guilty of abusing taxpayer confidence by failing to put an end to the problems they were engaged to resolve. ASTPS refuses membership to such practitioners and has disciplinary procedures to assure members maintain the ASTPS standards of practice.

Consider the advantages of joining ASTPS. If you are already a member, we appreciate your participation and dedication to the profession. If you have an interest in belonging to an association that seeks to improve the working relationship with the IRS and other taxing agencies, eliminate taxpayer abuse, and generally raise the standards of the profession ASTPS welcomes your membership.

As our web site develops, you will find it one of your best resources for news and training opportunities so visit often for updates and member information.

ASTPS has a certification program available to members in good standing.  If you have an interest in the certification program and in earning the Certified Tax Resolution Specialist (CTRS) designation, contact the association for more information.

If you have any questions you can call, write or visit us... in person or in cyberspace.

Sincerely,

Lawrence M. Lawler, CPA, CTRS
National Director, ASTPS
