Advanced Tax Problem Resolution Seminar
I always say if I leave a seminar with just one idea or one piece of new knowledge it was worth it – well I am leaving this one with 4 very large pieces of information (Philadelphia 2008) that will help me and my practice and must say the manual is worth it all.
Jim Corvino, EA - Wind Gap, Pennsylvania
I especially enjoyed the bankruptcy discussion (Philadelphia 2008) by Gary Bluestein. I do a lot of tax bankruptcies and very few people know much about it. If I have questions I just have to figure it out. Having someone to bounce ideas off of will be a tremendous help.
Reba Wingfield, Esq. - Little Rock, Arkansas
The only organization/seminar where I am still learning new & different techniques for my tax problem resolution practice.
Neil Deininger, CPA, Esq. - Little Rock, Arkansas
This seminar was excellent. The knowledgeable diverse speakers gave an in-depth meaning to our daily work. Materials to take home were timely and relevant. This was three days well spent. Kudos to Larry and Ron and their team!
Nancy Wolf, CPA, CTRS - Wilmington, Delaware
This seminar (Philadelphia 2008) helped me to re-examine my current case load in light of the powerful tools and information I obtained in this very excellent 3-day seminar. I gained confidence in my ability to represent taxpayers and I understood where I could seek out other information. Well worth the time, money and effort I spent to be here.
Ninamary Maginnis, Esq. - Louisville, Kentucky
The most powerful tax seminar (Las Vegas 2007) I have attended. The knowledge I will take home will allow me to increase my practice size significantly!!
Charles Enders, CPA, CTRS - Salinas California
I have been practicing tax resolution for more than 20+ years and always learn from an ASTPS seminar!
Steve Rue, EA, CTRS - Mechanicsville, Virginia
The information was very informative and provided very valuable insight into providing quality representation. The instructors were very knowledgeable and experienced and provided their subject matter in a format that was easy to understand and use.
Mike McGrath - Modesto, California
What an excellent education in IRS representation! The best (Las Vegas 2007) I have ever attended.
Ben Cox, EA - Dallas, Texas
Even repeat topics are valuable because you learn new nuances and/or applications of what was learned. As always, power packed seminar (Las Vegas 2007)!
Mira Chopra, Esq. - Euclid, Ohio
The seminar was excellent. After the first day I wanted to be a member of the organization. Dean Johnson, CPA - Albuquerque, New Mexico
The seminar was great! Topics were relevant. I learned a lot and have new resources and reference material. I plan to stay active in ASTPS and attend at least one seminar per year. Dan Dwyer, CPA - Marmora, New Jersey
Presenters are excellent. For our business the is the most relevant continuing professional education program.
Wayne Miller, CPA - Lansing, Michigan
I have attended various tax seminars and this one (Las Vegas 2008) dealt specifically with day to day problems. I was made more aware of how to properly represent my clients. I learned better ways of resolving client cases and working to a more appropriate resolution.
David Ortiz - Redlands, California
Most content rich seminar (Las Vegas 2008) I have attended in 25 years!
Jaime Buchwald, CPA - Coral Springs, Florida
"I am very glad I came to this (Phoenix 2006). I don’t do a lot of representation (I lean more towards payroll), But I do expect to do more and more of it as our office grows. Attending seminars like this helps me encourage confidence in my ability to handle it."
Roxanne Augenstein, EA - Flagstaff, Arizona
"If I only knew that ASTPS existed before, I would have attended their seminars rather than the seminars from other providers. They have great programs, knowledgeable and expert resource presenters, and accommodating staff."
Guillermo Garcia, EA - Sunland, California
My interest in learning how to set up a tax problem resolution practice is what brought me to my first ASTPS seminars. My goals for attending the seminars were not just to learn how to market the practice and how to handle these cases. I wanted to get a feel for just what kind of practice this was: what kind of people were engaged in this kind of practice, what kind of people would the clients be, what was the earning potential of this kind of practice, etc. I also wanted to meet people who could become part of a network that would assist me to be successful in this practice. My attendances at the two seminars I have attended has helped me to more than meet all of those goals. I am implementing what I learned at the seminars and I have new clients coming into my practice and I know what to do with them when they get here, (With a little help from my friends!). I plan to attend all future ASTPS seminars so that I can continue to learn and grow this practice, and I plan to send my new assistant to the ASTPS "Perfect Administrative Assistant" Training Program.
Kay Nehring, Esq. - Midland, Texas
"Great Seminar! (Baltimore 2006) It's one (if not the only one) of the best seminars in tax problem resolution work, from technical to marketing, it's the best! I've attended every ASTPS seminar and each and every time I learn new things that I can employ in my practice."
Michael Rozbruch, CPA, CTRS - Encino, California
"Larry, I enjoy all your seminars, but in my opinion, this one (Baltimore 2006) was the best of them all! All-Star cast and materials."
John Tenery, Esq. - Mission Viejo, California
"The Baltimore 2006 seminar covered up to the minute IRS changes, and provided practical tips for marketing. The presenters brought real world experiences to the attendees clarifying theory through working examples. A good refresher program that also covered the basics."
James Sinn, CPA - Orange Park, Florida
"The Baltimore 2006 seminar was a must for anyone who represents clients both in practice and representation. L.G. Brooks was great."
Edward Garcia, EA - Miami Lakes, Florida
"Another GREAT seminar that was jammed packed with information. I enjoyed the speakers and the topics were fresh and different from the last seminar, I found a few gems that will help me in my practice. I also was reminded of a few items that I had not used in a while that can also be very useful."
Gary Stapleton, CPA, CTRS - Clackamas, Oregon
"The recent seminar (January 2005-Tampa, Florida) was an excellent motivational educational experience. The crux of the materials was guidance for negotiating Offers In Compromise for individuals who have significant income and/or assets. This information alone made it a worthwhile trip. Bankruptcy and software (separate speakers) both were very knowledgeable and informative. Larry Lawler's marketing tips are always motivational."
Nancy Wolf, CPA - Wilmington, Delaware
"Your timing is perfect! This seminar provided the most practical and useful information of any seminar I have attended. I tried the "tree of wealth" on the first client who walked in on Monday and secured $1,200 I would have otherwise given away for free. Then on Wednesday I used the penalty abatement information and found a defense for the accuracy related penalty in a record fifteen minutes. I saved the client $29,000 and earned my $5,000 fee (which was prepaid) in a total three hours, for what otherwise was going to be a difficult OIC based on doubt as to liability and separate year notice of deficiency. Need I go on?"
Doris Martinez, EA - Lakewood, Colorado
IRS Problem Resolution Boot Camp
"This was a very well organized, educational, and interesting presentation. For the rest of the seminar, I was hoping for more presentations by Larry Lawler! Keep up the wonderful program, and Thank You. (Commenting on the Phoenix 2005 4 Day Super Seminar Spectacular)
Nikki Hashemi, Esq - Valencia, California
"This Boot Camp was one of the best seminars I have ever attended!"
Darshan Wadhwa, CPA - Houston, Texas
"Larry Lawler is not only a gentleman, but a scholar as well. He makes you feel at ease and never ignores or criticizes any questions you may ask. He is very willing to answer all of your questions, giving you as much information as you need to get you up and running. Given the amount of information one needs to learn to get into this line of work (not to mention the potential to make decent income), it is amazing how much value one receives in the two day (Orlando, 2006) Boot Camp. I am looking forward to the 3 day advanced seminar in May, 2006! I am sure I will attend.
John Cimino, Esq. - Denver, Colorado
"It was wonderful to meet the ASTPS staff and review many of the basic procedures for tax resolution issues. From my perspective, this course has value for all practitioners at all levels of experience, including those who only do tax and accounting work. In my opinion, the benefits of attending this course include:
1. Gaining an insight into the full gamut of tax problem resolution
2. Learning about both the law, the forms and the IRS procedures
3. Learning about the resources needed to support the application of the law
and/or the procedures
4. Getting to mingle with and glean from other tax professionals,
many of whom have had a plethora of experience in dealing with the IRS on
these issues."
Richard Matthews, EA - Oxnard, California
"Larry did a great job in providing information regarding the various tax controversy topics. From the OIC program, to compliance to Appeals, his explanations were right on target -- and easy to follow. We enjoyed listening to the other war stories and positive resolutions that were achieved -- and comparing notes from the other members that attended. We are looking forward to participating in other events in the future."

Dannica Nicholls - Los Angeles, California
Larry was a superb informational speaker. He covered subjects that I previously had questions about such as Employer Taxes and Penalty Abatements. I also enjoyed the case preparation.
Elva Loya - Los Angeles, California
While much of this information was over my head, I feel that it gave me enough of a “jumping off” point. I now have a better understanding of what others around me do and a better understanding of how to support them.
Cindy Cain - Los Angeles, California
Larry was very informative. I learned new ways to improve my Offers, and to be more assertive with clients when trying to extract documentation from them.
Patricia Loper - Los Angeles, California
The seminar was beneficial. Lawrence Lawler was very informative by answering each and every question we had.

The "Perfect Administrative Assistant" Training Program
"The Perfect Administration Assistant class was superbly presented by Ms. Norma Padilla. I really enjoyed the class and I believe it is a must for all new EAs/CPAs/Lawyers who are in the Tax Problem Resolution profession. I have not had any actual experience in representation because I have no confidence representing any client. But after this seminar I believe that I could now start doing tax problem representation with the IRS. Step by step procedures on tax problems were taught to the class as well as the proper record keeping of all documents relative to the tax problem."
Guillermo Garcia, EA - Sunland, California
"Norma's training was thorough, yet easy to understand. Her enthusiasm towards her work shined through in her speaking and has increased my motivationhotel was wonderful (Baltimore 2006), and the atmosphere for socializing was great."

"Norma is a consummate professional. I enjoyed her presentation enormously. I want her to come to my office and train my entire staff."
Michael Eddings, Attorney - Houston, Texas / Regarding attending the Buffalo, NY program.
"In the past, I have experienced that individuals older than myself tend to treat the younger as inferior. Norma however, made me feel very comfortable and capable of implementing the procedures she was presenting. Overall, the class was extremely informative and fast paced, which I enjoyed. I love the book or as Norma calls it, our new "bible". It truly is! I use it on a continual basis since I have returned from the class. It has helped me in communicating with my boss as well as with clients. Whether I am speaking to them in person or on paper, I feel more confident and effective. Overall, I truly believe my efficiency level has increased significantly in how I deal with our IRS clientele as well as with those I work with."
Mary Wanamaker, Administrative Assistant - Thousand Oaks, California
"Each administrative and/or support staff person would benefit by attending the Administrative Assistant Seminar. The information was straight forward and well presented. I walked away with several solid ideas that will impact my office in a positive way."

Attn: Ron Perrino
RE: Administrative Assistant Testimonial
Dear Ron,
I wanted to thank ASTPS for providing a learning program for Administrative Assistants. Last year my assistant went to this program and got so much out of it. Besides learning the basics of running a tax practice, she also learned many more advanced practices. The most important thing, in my opinion, was that she got was a huge confidence boost in being able to understand the big picture which, in turn, helped her understand the importance of the smaller details.
My assistant had been working for me for over 6 months when I sent her to this program. Although she had attended another program with me at the very start of her employment, she really did not feel that her “on the job training” had given her as good of an understanding of my tax practice as your program had. When she came back, the positive effects of the program were obvious.
In addition to just having a better understanding and having things run more quickly, smoothly and efficiently, she was able to implement marketing programs that I had wanted to earlier but hadn’t had time to do. This translated into direct results of new PAYING, high quality clients. The program more than paid for itself, and I am strongly considering bringing her to another program for a refresher. Just like us practitioners, our assistants need re-energizing too, and I know that if she implements one more idea, even if its not new information, it is very likely to spur on new activity that will generate great results!
Thanks again for providing the program!
Sincerely,
Mira B. Chopra
