Perfect Tax Associate

The Staff Training Program You’ve Been Waiting For!

The Perfect Tax Associate was first created over a decade ago, but recently we dug it out of the ASTPS vault and reimagined it for 2020! This course is specifically for Office Managers and Case Managers to get them up to speed as quickly as possible so they can become an enormous asset in your firm.

In this course your staff will learn everything they need to know to assist you in your business. They’re going to learn about how tax problems are created and the different solutions available. By the end of this program they’ll be speaking the same language as you!

Let’s be clear – this program does not go into the technical analysis of resolving tax problems. It is intended to give your non-technical staff a better understanding of the industry which will allow them to better communicate with prospects and clients.

Here is just some of what your staff are going to learn in the PTA Program:

Part 1 – All about Tax Problems

Having a better understanding of how tax problems form will allow staff to better communicate with clients and be able to empathize with them. In this section you will learn:

  • Who has Tax Problems
  • Why they get tax problems
  • Motivations to resolve problems
  • The three basic types of tax problems
  • Taxpayer Options in Collection Cases

Part 2 – How you can make a difference!

Front office staff are the heart and soul of your business. They are on the front lines dealing with clients while you’re battling with the IRS. We often find that office staff are underutilized and can take on additional responsibility if properly developed! In this section we’ll cover:

  • Client intake
  • Phone interviews
  • Mail sorting/triage
  • Gathering Documents
  • Data Entry
  • Correspondence

Part 3: Case Management & Marketing

Keeping clients informed is critical to keeping them happy and avoiding countless calls checking in with the professional. After your staff go through this course they’ll be able to:

  • Understand Case Flow
  • Client tracking
  • Updating Clients
  • Dealing with difficult clients
  • Basic Marketing Strategies you can help with
  • Marketing tracking

Sample letters, checklists, and work programs

Prior to the start of the program ASTPS will provided all attendees with downloadable sample letters, checklists, and work programs. The materials will be provided in a fully editable format (MS Word) to allow customization for your practice.

This course was designed to make your life easier! A properly trained staff can make a world of difference in the efficiency and effectiveness of your firm. Investing in your staff can also boost morale and re-energize your team!

Your Instructors
