ASTPS is accredited by NASBA (for CPAs), the IRS (for Enrolled Agents), and attorneys are more than welcome to submit the credits to their state bar for credit. Since each state is different we do not seek approval in each one, but we will happily provide you with whatever supporting documentation is required for submission!
Let’s say a client comes to you and tells you that they haven’t filed Tax Returns for the last 3 years and the IRS says they owe $45,000. ASTPS always recommends billing in 2 phases. Phase 1 being the investigation & compliance and Phase 2 is the resolution (We’ll go into more depth during the program).
Phase 1 Example:
Power of Attorney – $100
Pull Transcripts (3 Years) – $300
Tax Returns (3 Years) – 1,050
Evaluation of Alternatives – $1,325
Total for Phase 1: $2,775
Your financial analysis reveals the client has recently started a good paying job and is able to pay the amount due so you are going to get them into an installment agreement. As they do not have an RO on their case you will have to call ACS to to set up the IA.
Phase 2 Example:
Installment Agreement – ACS under $50,000 liability – $1,200
Total Fee for Case: $3,975
You might be asking yourself – How is someone with tax problems going to pay my fees? At the Accelerator you will learn how to quote these fees and get the IRS to cover them!
What is learning a new career skill worth to you?
Probably much like you, we here at ASTPS, are major believers in investing in yourself and always striving to improve our skills and capabilities. So with the average tax resolution case being worth $3,000 – $5,000+ what would you be willing to invest to develop the skills to find tax resolution cases, manage them, and resolve them from start to finish?
Would you be willing to invest $10,000 to add this service to your skillset?
At that investment you would need to get 2-3 cases before you would have fully paid off the training and begun getting a return. Not to mention now you have these skills for life! Consider these questions:
- How long do you plan on being in business or working in the tax industry (10, 20, 30 years)?
- Do you think you could find at least one case each quarter?
- What could this program be worth to you over the course of your career?
The possibilities are truly endless, but it depends entirely on you. Your success will directly correlate to the time, energy, and resources you are willing to invest in launching these services.
Luckily for you, you do not have to invest $10,000 to get started. You don’t need to invest $7,000, $5,000, or even $2,000. The ASTPS Accelerator starts at just $1,497 and goes even lower with membership and early bird discounts! This means you have the possibility of being ROI positive after your first case!

How much does this cost?
With the average fee earned during a tax resolution case being anywhere from $3,000 – $5,000 this course could, and probably should, cost $6,000-$10,000. After all, you’re learning specialty skills that you can use for the rest of your career! Ultimately though our mission at ASTPS is to develop as many capable IRS representation experts as possible and to do that we need to keep the program as accessible as possible.
The full price of the course starts at $1,497 and gets lower with member and early bird discounts.
I’ve been to Boot Camp in the past. Should I attend the Accelerator?
We have always recommended coming back and attending again after you’ve gotten some more tax resolution experience. Attendees often tell us it’s like watching a movie for a second time – you notice and pick up on new things you missed the first time around. The bones of the Boot Camp are in the Accelerator, but there is also 12+ hours of new and expanded content! Previous Boot Camp attendees will still be able to attend at 50% off the regular price which is now $648.50.
Can this really work for me?
You might be thinking… sure this might work for other people, but my situation is unique. The Accelerator is a new program but it’s predecessor, the Boot Camp, is not. In fact over 4,000 tax resolution pros from all walks of life have launched their careers from the Boot Camp.
The Accelerator was created from hundreds of hours of running Boot Camps and feedback from attendees. We are confident that there is no other single program that can better prepare you to start your tax resolution career. In fact we’re so confident that we have a 100% money back guarantee!
What if I’ve never talked to the IRS before?
Then the Accelerator is the place for you! This program is designed to show you everything you need to know to get started in tax resolution. We take you through the entire tax resolution process from gathering information to closing the case and answer every single one of your questions along the way!
What if I’ve done a couple cases – Is it worth taking this course?
For the most part having some experience is going to allow you to get even more out of the program. When you’re starting from scratch you don’t know what you don’t know. When you’ve gone through the process of working with the IRS you know what you struggled with. This course will give you best practices to drastically improve your processes. From former IRS professionals to tax pros with 20 years of experience – We’ve never had anyone tell us that they didn’t learn something worth the cost of admission!
How much access will I get to the instructors?
Whether you are attending online or in-person you will have full access to the instructors. While you are in-person you will be able to hang out with the instructors before class, on breaks, during the scheduled networking events and more! Online attendees will have full time instructors dedicated to answering their questions as well! If applicable to everyone your questions will also be read out loud for the entire class to hear. Bottom line what sets ASTPS apart from everyone else is the caring, kind, knowledgeable instructors!
Do I need to attend all of the stages live?
In order to ask questions and get continuing education you must be live whether it is in-person or virtually online. Recordings will be available for 30 days, but to get the most out of your experience you should plan on participating live.
How long do I have access to the course materials and recordings?
You will receive a binder with all of the presentation slides along with the Field Training Exercise handouts. All other material will be delivered digitally. You will have access to the recordings of the event for 30 days to review after the conclusion of the event. Additionally you will now be able to get 50% off the Accelerator for life!
Do I need to be licensed to enroll in this program?
Anyone can take this program but you do need to be a licensed CPA, EA, or Attorney to represent before the IRS. We do very often have practitioners in the process of getting their Enrolled Agent license take this course. We also get practitioners who want to send their unlicensed support staff for training.
What is a hybrid program?
Hybrid is referring to how this program can be attended. Stages 1, 3, and 4 will be virtual for everyone on Zoom. Stage 2 can be attended either in-person, in one of the 4 cities, or it can be attended virtually as well.

ASTPS was founded in the infancy of the tax resolution industry way back in 2003. Initially Larry Lawler and John Witkowski were running into a lot of clients with tax problems, but there were very few resources to help guide practitioners through the programs available. As they learned they decided to create ASTPS to share their new knowledge.
Initially they launched advanced training conferences for practitioners to get together several times per year. As the demand for the information increased they decided to create a comprehensive tax resolution training program which later became the Boot Camp.
Over 4,000 practitioners have gone through the Boot Camp over the last decade and in 2022 ASTPS significantly enhanced the Boot Camp and rebranded as the Accelerator.
